ello, my name is Craig Jensen, and here is a little bit about myself: I am the Chairman and CEO of Executive Software International, a successful and award-winning software firm headquartered in Glendale, California. I am also a Scientologist. This adventure all began in 1974....
Back in my early years as a computer programmer, I took on a new job to design a special operating system for a major computer company located in Massachusetts. I had just created a similar system at my previous job, and was looking forward to showing what I could do.
I was stunned, however, when my presentation was rejected and the project canceled the day after I arrived. This troubled me greatly I had no idea why I was suddenly adrift in a sea of uselessness after having successfully navigated the same waters at my previous job. All I could figure was that it was because I was "the new guy."
Then one day a new fellow came to work there and was assigned to share my office. He was very upbeat and active, and his projects (unlike mine) were continually getting approved and acted upon! This caused me some confusion, as he was more of a "new guy" at the company than I was.
Soon afterwards, this fellow whom I had admired so much mentioned Scientology. So I asked him if he was a Scientologist and he said he was. I was astounded. So I made him sit down and tell me all about it. I was fascinated.
That night, a Friday, I went to the Church of Scientology of Boston and bought the book Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health, by
L. Ron Hubbard.I read it that night (well, most of it, anyway). The next morning I went back to the Church and signed up for an introductory course in personal communication.
By Monday, I knew the true reason for my failure at work: it was not because I was the "new guy," it was because a serious flaw in my communication skills was preventing others from really understanding what I was talking about!
So this little three-day course literally changed my life.
Soon afterwards, I became a rising star at work. My proposals started getting approved and I was assigned to work on exciting new projects. Meanwhile, I kept up my Scientology studies in my off-hours. Eventually, I formed my own company, Executive Software. Then, using
L. Ron Hubbardswritings on business and management (see My Success in Scientology), I grew this one-man operation into a thriving multimillion dollar corporation.
I now lead a successful life, have a beautiful home, a wife who is a success in her own right and able children. Thanks to
L. Ron Hubbardand Scientology, I have made my dreams come true.
